My first meeting with Daniela was in the classes of basic contemporary dance technique, a subject that she took during the two semesters of 2017 and 2019. Her interest in dance has been very clear since the beginning of her career, and Daniela came to the university with enough prior information. My first memory is that of a student who was very attentive and quick to learn the material in class. During the first semesters, Daniela looked a bit frazzled, and she struggled with exercises that required cardiovascular endurance. Throughout the race, I have noticed that Daniela is very aware of her priorities, that she has taken care of her health and that she has managed to improve her energy levels and stamina a lot. She is a fighter and focused woman. A strong dancer. In general, Daniela has gained control, power and wealth in the possibilities of her movement. I think that, to continue developing her great potential, Daniela can focus more on the total integration of her gaze, on the expansion of the movement of her legs, and on two particular qualities: the contained management of flow and sustained time. I think that, for this, she can work more on internalization; that is, in occasionally canceling the external gaze, in order to feel the movement in a different way. Perceived as a body that creates space, rather than as a body that moves in space.

In 2018 I had Daniela in the Dance History Staging class. I was delighted to see that her physicality matched her intellectual curiosity and interest in academic research. Daniela loves to read, and has a constant critical attitude towards things. She is interested in the way in which dance is part of the construction of values ​​and dynamics in a society. He likes to share his knowledge and opinions about the things he reads. During the second semester of 2018, Daniela participated as an assistant to several classes of the subject, and for me her presence in the classes was always an important support. Thanks to all this, Daniela obtained a scholarship to attend the International Dance Research Congress in 2019. I think that her questions are relevant, that her critical attitude mobilizes very interesting things, and that she has the indispensable habit of finding out about the topics that they disturb you. I would suggest that you work more on developing your arguments, so that your discussions and particular views acquire more coherence and solidity, especially in your written works. It is clear to me that Daniela has good abilities to develop in the field of academic research, and I really hope that she continues to grow in this area.

In 2018 I had Daniela at the Laban Movement Laboratory. Her work during the classes and the final project show that she is aware of what her most common patterns are and what her challenges are. She took advantage of the lab to work more on her challenges, and made her creation exercise a technical exploration. As in all classes, Daniela stood out for her consistency and responsiveness. It was nice to see her play outside the technical codes of dance. I think that Daniela can use the laboratory more to continue enriching her stage work in terms of movement and expressiveness qualities.

With Daniela we have taken some classes of ballet and Afro-Colombian dance together at the university. Discipline and energy are two of her great strengths, and her body intelligently adapts to different styles and forms of dance. Daniela is a very visible student in any class. You are usually generous to express what you like, and courageous to express what you find problematic or negative. In the various situations that I have shared with her, Daniela stands out for her excellent attendance, her consistent participation and a clear vocation to organize and be a leader. In general, I think that Daniela could measure much more the knowledge that she has gained through the game and the exploration with the technical materials that she faces. In the hope that she goes to another level in her performance and interpretation, I would tell Daniela to seek and enunciate with more confidence her own ways of moving and creating.

I really have the certainty that Daniela has enough technical and human tools to continue developing successfully in the professional field. I hope to see her shine soon and enjoy every fruit of her efforts. I really appreciate your strong, interested and attentive presence in each class, as well as the powerful energy you have injected into each group. I am going to miss her.
